Nitrous Oxide In New Lenox, IL

How Nitrous Oxide Works
Nitrous oxide, also known as "laughing gas," induces a relaxed state of euphoria. When inhaled through a mask placed over your nose, this colorless and odorless gas takes effect quickly. Compared to other sedation methods, our dentists have better control over the dosage of nitrous oxide. Throughout your procedure, we can adjust the dosage as necessary to ensure your maximum comfort.
Contrary to popular belief, nitrous oxide does not actually put you to sleep. Instead, it induces such a deep state of relaxation that you may occasionally doze off, but we can easily wake you up if that happens. You will remain conscious enough to respond to our requests during the procedure. You may experience slight lightheadedness or a tingling sensation in your arms and legs. Generally, you will feel calm and comfortable. Your awareness of the environment around you may be limited, and you may not even remember the procedure afterwards.
