CEREC Same Day Dentistry In New Lenox, IL

In an ideal world, everyone would have perfect, healthy teeth for life. Unfortunately, various factors such as disease and trauma make this impossible. Our Dentists utilizes the latest dental technology to restore your smile.
A Dental Crown is used to replace a large amount of missing tooth structure with a durable porcelain material. It can even enhance the appearance of the tooth. There are numerous benefits to getting a crown. However, the downside is that it usually requires multiple visits. But not anymore!
Our dentists understands the value of your time. In the past, getting a crown would take at least two appointments, with the appointments often being three weeks apart. During this time, the patient would have to wear a temporary plastic crown and endure a messy and uncomfortable impression process. But things have changed! Dr. Etchison is one of the few dentists who have invested in state-of-the-art same day crowns. Thanks to this technology, you can now get your crown in just one appointment!
What is CEREC?
The Benefits of CEREC?
There are numerous advantages to CEREC restorations over conventional laboratory-made restorations:
- Single-Appointment Dental Visits – With CEREC, you only need to come to our Pasadena, Texas office one time. In the past, patients had to come to the office at least two times.
- No Plastic Temporary Restorations – Old Fashioned restoration procedures required you to wear plastic temporary restorations while a laboratory created your crown. Temporary restorations can fall off, are difficult to chew on and can cause other problems. Same appointment CEREC crowns eliminate this inconvenience.
- Complete Control by our dentists – Since the crown is designed and fabricated from start to finish by our dentists, he has complete control over how it will look and fit. By contrast, an old fashioned crown is made in a laboratory under the control of a technician who must rely upon impressions and a written prescription.
- Superior Materials – CEREC uses strong, tooth-colored ceramic materials. This makes it possible to restore your teeth to their natural strength, function and beauty. CEREC restorations contain no metal! Beautiful life like crowns are now possible with this advanced technique.
Describe The CEREC Procedure?
Our Dentists will use modern technology to prepare your tooth. Instead of using messy traditional methods, they will take a digital picture of your tooth using the CEREC camera. This digital impression will be converted into a 3-D virtual model of your tooth using CAD/CAM technology. Our Dentists will then design your new crown on the computer. The data will be sent to the CEREC milling unit, which will create your crown from a block of porcelain.
You can watch the milling machine in action as it makes your new crown. Once the crown is made, it will be tried in to ensure a perfect fit. It will then be placed in an oven at 1500 degrees to increase its strength. After cooling, our dentists will cement your new crown into place. This advanced crown making technology eliminates the need for messy impressions, temporary crowns, and multiple appointments. It saves you time and makes your visit to the dental office more efficient.
